About
JOHN & MICHELLE
Yogi Partners
We are loving partners in all things! As E-RYT Kripalu Hatha yoga teachers with thousands of hours of teaching experience (including 6+ years as successful yoga studio owners), we enjoy co-leading inspiring "all levels" yoga practices and experiences (live & online) designed around themes related to the heart of yoga - on and off the mat. Each class is a delicious blend of conscious movement, meditation and breath practices and is enhanced with the soothing sounds of live instruments and chanting. As “Ritual & Celebration Artists”, we delight in creating and connecting communities in the spirit of Love, Peace and Oneness.
"I have so cherished attending your classes and getting to know you both. You have been an inspiration more than you know. My heart is full of gratitude for all that you have given."
Music Makers
For almost two decades now, we have had the pleasure of sharing Bhakti and Nada yoga practices (i.e., yoga of devotion and sacred sound) as part of regular yoga classes as well as at festivals, conferences and with yoga centres and communities abroad.
Among our favourite experiences in this life is being part of SURYACHANDRA, a music ensemble that explores the healing power of sound through devotional chants and Kirtan, and sharing GENTLE WARRIOR SACRED SONG CEREMONIES – pure musical medicine - with JONT.
We have been privileged to tour across Canada and the United States sharing our passion for yoga and mantra chanting.
Teachers & Inspiration
We are honoured to have studied with and been inspired by amazing teachers locally and abroad including Jody Myers, Silver Frith, Divya Prabha, Jo-Anne Cusack, Yogendra Mishra, Yogi Amrit Desai, “Open”/Openhand, Krishna Das, Jai Uttal, Lorin Roche, Shiva Rea, Sean Corn and Saul David Raye. The foundation of our practice is rooted in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and the Vijana Bhairava Tantra (Radiance Sutras).
Reiki & Sound Healing
We are practitioners and Masters of the Usui Shiki Ryoho and offer a unique form that blends Reiki energy and the vibrational energy of live instruments and chanting, which re-harmonizes and restores the body’s balance.
Michelle Coleman, E-RYT, MSc, BSc, RD (Ret.): “I believe that well-being is sacred and precious and offer my experience and passion in service of this domain. I am dedicated to nourishing the deep power, collective wisdom and limitless potential of my fellow humans, by creating spaces of trust and authenticity.”
In addition to being a dedicated yogini, over the last 30 years I have had the pleasure of serving as a registered professional dietitian, public health practitioner, facilitator of authentic and transformational leadership and university researcher and lecturer.
John Coleman, E-RYT: “I believe that everything is perfect and that the only change required in this beautiful world is that which comes from within.”
I am a multi-instrumentalist and skilled musician, photographer and yogi. I have enjoyed decades of experience in the world of private enterprise as an IT Business Analyst and in the field of Corporate Sustainability.
Currently, we enjoy life on Treaty Six Territory in Saskatoon where we spend time with family and take pleasure in sharing passions and interests that range from creating online yoga videos, mala-making, photography, web design, music management and professional copywriting/editing.
"I want you to know how much your classes and friendship have meant to me. From the first class, I realized I had never experienced anything like it before. The senses of peace, serenity and physical well being are incredible. You both are tremendous teachers. Thank you for giving of yourselves so completely to your practice and to your students. You are an inspiration!"
